Commercial Roofing Specialties and Benefits

We understand that choosing a roof for your commercial building is an important decision and that you need a roof that’s both durable and long-lasting. Our options for commercial flat roof types include the following:

  • PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). This single-ply roofing material uses heat-welded seams to form a watertight system and is known for its energy efficiency. It boasts a long service life and is resistant to moisture, fire, wind and chemicals. Although the cost of PVC roofing leans toward the high side, its many benefits make it an investment worth considering.
  • EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer). This synthetic rubber membrane is cost-effective, durable, lightweight and fairly simple to install. The only drawback is that ultraviolet rays can degrade the adhesives and also cause shrinkage and brittleness over time. Still, EPDM has stood the test of time and continues to be a popular, low-cost roofing option.
  • Modified Bitumen. This durable roofing material is made of a combination of asphalt, polymers and fillers and is easy to maintain and repair. It has a high-tensile strength and is resistant to wind, fire and hail. Proper insulation is required to protect the building below from excessive heating due to the dark color of this type of roof, but when installed correctly this isn’t a problem.
  • Metal roofing. Steel roofing is not only visually pleasing, but highly durable and able to withstand extreme temperatures and severe weather conditions. This low-maintenance roof can easily last 40-50 years as long as the metal is high-quality.

Summit Commercial Roofing specialties include working with all flat commercial roof types and assists you with making the best choice for your property. We also specialize in the repair, maintenance and inspection of flat roofs and keep your roof in top condition throughout its lifespan.
