Our History in Commercial Roofing

Summit Commercial Roofing has gone through changes to its name and location, but we’ve always been the same family providing the same quality services for over 25 years. Starting with Charles Smith back in 1998, the company has grown into a large-scale commercial roofing company run by three generations of Smiths!

The Start

Founded by Charles "Chuck" Smith and his two sons Tom and Brian Smith in June of 1998. Original name: "Summit Roofing & Remodeling LLC" in Garden City. Completed first roof in June 1998.

Mid

The business moved to Livonia and Linda Smith (Tom & Brian’s mother) became a partner in 2017 after the passing of Charles.

Now

The company legally assumed the name "Summit Commercial Roofing" and rebrand the logo in 2020. While it is still currently owned by Tom, Brian, and their mother Linda Smith, Brian and his son Luke currently run the day-to-day operations.
